Equimec Paste is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic for horses which is effective against:
- large strongyles, small strongyles (including benzimidazole resistant strains),
- adult and immature pinworm (Oxyuris equi),
- adult and immature roundworm (Parascaris equorum),
- adult hairworm (Trichostrongylus axei),
- microfilaria of neck threadworm (Oncocherca sp.),
- oral and gastric stages of bots (Gasterophilus sp.),
- adult and immature lungworm (Dictyocaulus arnfieldi), and
- adult intestinal threadworm (Strongyloides westeri).
Also for the control of summer sores and cutaneous onchocerciasis.
Equimec has a wide margin of safety at the recommended dose level, making it safe for horses of all ages. Mares may be treated at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.
